Why We Use CentralReach to Track Progress in ABA Therapy

Watching your autistic child grow and learn new life skills is one of the best parts of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. But how do you know your child is actually making progress? At Action Behavior Centers, we use CentralReach, a trusted ABA data platform, to track ABA therapy outcomes and to support our evidence-based approach to autism treatment.

CentralReach gives our teammates a clear, real-time picture of how each child is learning and growing, so parents, physicians, and clinicians can stay on the same page. It also helps our teammates follow current best practices in ABA while keeping documentation organized, which means more time spent with your child and less time on paperwork.

Turning ABA therapy goals into growth

Every child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at ABC starts with a thorough assessment led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®). An ABA therapy evaluation, sometimes called an ABA therapy assessment, is how your child's BCBA gets to know your child before therapy begins. They look at your child's strengths, challenges, and support needs to figure out how ABA therapy can help your child reach meaningful outcomes

Based on the ABA therapy assessment, the BCBA sets individualized goals, with your collaboration, built around your child's needs and strengths. ABA therapy goals often focus on areas such as:

  • Communication: asking for help, labeling items, or using full sentences
  • Social skills: playing alongside peers, sharing, or taking turns
  • Behavior support: following directions, waiting, and building coping skills
  • Fine and gross motor skills: writing, jumping, or balancing
  • School readiness skills: identifying letters, sorting by shape or color, and counting

CentralReach supports every part of this process by helping our Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®) and BCBAs document progress toward these goals as it happens.

How CentralReach supports ABA therapy progress tracking

Real-time data collection

While your child is engaged in ABA therapy, their RBT records data on how each skill is being learned and practiced. CentralReach allows for:

  • Instant tracking of responses
  • Notes on prompting levels and independence
  • Behavior frequency logging
  • Skill mastery checkpoints over time

This data gives your child’s BCBA the insight they need to make informed decisions about what’s working and what needs to be adjusted in the ABA therapy plan.

Smart reports and visual progress updates

CentralReach turns raw data into graphs, charts, and dashboards that show how a child is doing across different skill areas. These visuals help:

  • Families see steady progress or areas that need more support
  • Referring physicians stay updated on developmental gains
  • BCBAs adjust strategies to support learning

Families are an essential part of the treatment team, and these tools make it easy to review updates together during regular check-ins and twice-monthly Family Guidance sessions.

Why families and clinicians trust CentralReach

CentralReach helps ABC clinicians to:

  • Stay organized with secure clinical documentation
  • Collaborate closely as a therapy team
  • Spend less time on paperwork and more time with your child

And because CentralReach is designed specifically for ABA therapy for autism, it meets the high standards we set at ABC for clinical excellence.

Family Guidance: turning progress data into daily support

The data your child's team collects in CentralReach does not stay behind the scenes. It becomes part of the conversation during Family Guidance, a required part of every child's ABA treatment at Action Behavior Centers, led by your child's BCBA. Most families meet with their BCBA for at least two hours a month, walking through the same graphs and progress reports CentralReach generates and talking through what the data means for your child's next steps.

These sessions are personalized to your family and may cover topics such as building communication skills, teaching daily routines in small steps, supporting social skills with siblings and peers, and helping your child use new skills at home, at school, and in the community.

Behind every milestone moment at Action Behavior Centers is a team of dedicated BCBAs and RBTs, supported by tools they trust. CentralReach collects the data, and Family Guidance is where you and your BCBA review it together, so you always know where your child stands, what comes next, and that you remain an active part of your child's care team.
