At Action Behavior Centers in South Carolina, we provide evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to help children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) grow and learn new skills. Our South Carolina ABA team collaborates closely with families to ensure that each child’s therapy is individualized, effective, and meaningful.

ABC had been life changing for both us, and our child. They have been there every step of the way, from the initial testing/diagnosis, to daily check ins and updates at pick up. They helped us with insurance questions and issues, which are overwhelming all on their own. We’ve seen so many improvements in our little one. The therapists and everyone at the facility go above and beyond. I can’t recommend them enough!!
Our son has made outstanding progress during the last year, he is finally coming out of his shell and engaging in open play with other children. Thank you so much ABC for helping us!

We can help children of all ages!
If a screening tool or your child’s doctor suggests autism, the next step is to schedule an initial diagnostic evaluation (IDE) with a licensed psychologist. This evaluation typically involves a developmental interview, parent-report questionnaires, and direct observation of your child’s behaviors.
Schedule an IDEADOS-2
Gold-standard, in-person diagnostic assessment
If a screening tool or your child’s doctor suggests autism, the next step is to complete the ADOS-2 assessment. This research-backed evaluation is designed to help with accurate autism diagnosis for children of all ages, regardless of their language skills or developmental abilities.
At Action Behavior Centers, our dedicated teammates provide one-on-one applied behavior analysis therapy with compassion and dedication. Each child receives clinically excellent care from a team of therapists that includes:
- Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®): Master’s-level clinicians who set individualized ABA therapy goals in close partnership with Pennsylvania families. BCBAs oversee therapy sessions, track progress, and lead twice-a-month Family Guidance sessions.
- Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®): Trained autism therapists who work 1:1 with children during sessions and help them build communication, social, and life skills.

Frequently asked questions
View all FAQsWhat is ABA therapy, and how does it work?
Applied behavior analysis therapy is a proven approach for helping children with autism build new skills and reduce behaviors that can make learning more difficult. Through our Pennsylvania ABA therapy, children diagnosed with ASD can improve their communication, develop self-care routines, and learn emotion regulation skills. Our ABA therapists use positive reinforcement and personalized strategies to support each child’s growth. We work closely with families to help children reach their goals and build the skills they need for the future.
Does ABA therapy work for autism?
Yes! Every child with autism is unique, and some children experience more significant progress with ABA therapy than others. However, studies show that children who receive two or more years of intensive behavioral interventions, such as ABA therapy, can often participate in school and social activities at the same level as their peers.
Does ABA therapy mean my child is “stuck” at a table all day repeating the same tasks?
No way! At Action Behavior Centers, we create an exciting environment for learning. While sitting at a table may be a developmental goal for school readiness, there are so many other skills to learn and fun to have.
Our autism treatment centers feature designated “Eats and Crafts” spaces that are used daily for exciting activities. Circle Time, another daily event, brings therapists, BCBAs, and children together to sing, laugh, and learn. Children can also participate in energetic, therapist-led activities like group exercises and sensory rooms.
The doctor said my child's development is delayed and suggested waiting to test for autism. Is that a good idea?
It’s natural to hope your child will catch up on their own, but delaying an autism diagnosis can mean missing key opportunities for early intervention. The earlier your child begins therapy, ideally between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old, the sooner they can develop essential skills for future success. Our proactive approach can make a lasting impact on your child's ability to connect with others and engage in the world around them.
