How 100 Bikes Brought Joy and Independence to Children in Dallas: YMCA Partnership
Action Behavior Centers, a leading provider of evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hosted its annual Leadership Summit in July 2023 in Dallas, Texas. The event brought together leaders from across the country for several days of connection, learning, and leadership development.

As part of the summit, Action Behavior Centers partnered with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, including the Moorland Family YMCA at Oak Cliff and Park South Family YMCA, to support a meaningful community impact event.
Together, teammates assembled and donated 100 bicycles to children across multiple communities in the Dallas area. Many of the children were present to receive their bikes in person, creating a memorable moment filled with excitement, joy, and a sense of independence.

“This partnership with the YMCA reflects our shared commitment to supporting children and families in our communities,” said Sharon Alpizar, Chief People Officer at Action Behavior Centers. “Being able to see the joy and confidence that comes with something as simple as a bike made this experience especially meaningful for our team.”
The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations focused on strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through programs and partnerships like this one, they continue to provide essential resources and opportunities to help children and families thrive.

Each year, Action Behavior Centers teammates come together during the Leadership Summit to support local communities through hands-on initiatives. Events like this reflect a continued commitment to creating meaningful impact beyond the walls of our centers.
