ABC Foundations: Student Loan Support for BCBAs and ABA Therapists

At Action Behavior Centers, our Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®) and Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®) deliver evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children diagnosed with autism every day. We know how much our teammates give to the children and families we serve, and we wanted a way to show our appreciation that goes beyond words.

Growing into a BCBA takes years of coursework, supervised fieldwork, and a real financial commitment, and many RBTs working toward that goal are carrying student loan debt long after the cap and gown come off. That's why we built ABC Foundations, a set of benefits designed to ease that burden and support ABA therapy teammates at every stage of their career.

How the ABA student loan program works

ABC partnered with SoFi® to help BCBAs, RBTs, and other teammates lower the cost of their existing student loans. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Refinance your loan. All active ABC teammates, including BCBAs and RBTs delivering ABA therapy in our centers, can refinance their existing loans through SoFi. On average, teammates who refinance lower their rate to around 4%, which can reduce both the total interest paid over the life of the loan and the size of the monthly payment.

Step 2: Get an ABC contribution. Once a teammate completes six months of active employment with ABC and remains actively employed, ABC contributes up to $600 per year toward the principal balance of that loan.

Together, these two steps can help our BCBAs and RBTs pay off their loans faster and free up money for the things that matter most to them, from lower interest rates and smaller monthly payments to real savings.

No student loans? No problem.

Not every teammate has student debt, and ABC Foundations still has something for you. Through the At Work Dashboard, teammates can access complimentary credit score monitoring, budgeting tools, and other financial wellness resources.

More ways ABC invests in your ABA career

ABC Foundations is only one part of how we support RBTs and aspiring BCBAs building a career in ABA therapy. ABC also partners with several universities, including Capella University, ASU Online, and Florida Tech, to offer discounted tuition for undergraduate and graduate degrees in behavior analysis, along with each school's most recent BCBA pass rate so teammates can see how graduates are performing.

For RBTs enrolled in a graduate program and working toward BCBA certification, the Everest Program is ABC's no-cost fellowship built to help you reach the summit of your ABA career. It includes unrestricted fieldwork hours, paid time off the schedule to study, and mentorship from experienced BCBA supervisors, all while you continue earning a paycheck as you work toward BCBA certification.
