Our Leaders

Hersh Sanghavi

Chief Executive Officer | Austin, TX

As the Chief Executive, Hersh is accountable for developing and overseeing the strategy, growth and operational performance of the company.

He brings over two decades of healthcare leadership and multi-site services experience from GE Healthcare, Booz & Company and DaVita Kidney Care.

Hersh is passionate about growing and developing high performing teams.

At Action, he has relentlessly pursued developing an engaging and inclusive culture amongst all teammates.

He is extremely active in the autism advocacy community and has become a champion for broadening access to services for all patients on the spectrum.

In his spare time, Hersh enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and enjoying the outdoors.

Hersh has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.

Charna Mintz, BCBA-D

Chief Clinical Officer | Austin, TX

Dr. Charna Mintz received masters and doctoral degrees in psychology from the University of Nevada Reno in 2001 and 2003 respectively. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2004.

Dr. Mintz has served as chief behavior analyst at a large adult residential facility, a school consultant, and clinical director for a private autism early intervention program.

More recently she assumed the role of Executive Director for a multi-state autism services organization orchestrating the successful acquisition by a national provider where she served as the Vice President of Clinical Operations for the Pacific Northwest until 2021.

Dr. Mintz is currently the Chief Clinical Officer for Action Behavior Centers serving children and families across Texas, Arizona, and Colorado. Dr. Mintz has served as president of the Washington Association for Behavior Analysis and co-chair of that organization’s legislative committee, which sponsored a behavior analyst licensure bill that was passed into law in 2015.

She just completed her presidency with  APBA and continues to serve as an active board member.

Ryan Chen

Chief Financial Officer | Austin, TX

Ryan brings over a decade of financial & strategic leadership experience in some of the world’s leading publicly traded healthcare and energy companies. He joined ABC from Vision Source, a subsidiary of Essilor-Luxottica, where he was VP of Finance & Head of VS Next, and was instrumental in leading the creation of a new business division.

Previously he spent more than 5 years at Chevron, where he led key programs & managed strategic investments in the Venture Capital & Innovation group and in Corporate Finance.

When Ryan’s not working on furthering ABC’s mission of enabling children on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential, he enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wife and kids, playing piano, and reading a good book.

He earned a BBA in finance & accounting with distinction from the University of Washington and an MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He is also a licensed CPA (currently inactive) in California.

 

Sharon Alpizar

Chief People Officer

As the Chief People Officer, Sharon is accountable for attracting, developing and retaining talent as well as ongoing HR operations at Action.

Sharon brings over 15 years of multi-site HR experience from NBC Universal and DaVita Kidney Care.

Sharon is passionate about developing an inclusive community of mission oriented individuals. She works closely with clinical and business leaders to develop career pathways and support growth and development of our teammates.

When she’s not working on furthering Action’s mission, Sharon enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 girls, coaching her daughter’s softball team, and all things fitness related.

She earned a BS in Finance from the University of Florida with High Honors and an MS in Human Resources from Troy University. She holds both a SHRM-SCP and PHR certification.

Brian Burns

General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Brian brings to ABC over 15 years of legal, compliance and investigations experience gained in various healthcare settings. 

Most recently Brian spent over 9 years at DaVita, Inc. a Fortune 200 dialysis provider where he served in roles of increasing responsibility.  During Brian’s last 4 years at DaVita he served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel – Subsidiaries. 

In that position Brian managed a team of attorneys and legal professionals responsible for providing legal, compliance and investigations support to a majority of DaVita’s subsidiaries including DaVita Labs, DaVita Clinical Research, Nephrology Practice Solutions, Nephrology Care Alliance and Lifeline Vascular Access.

Prior to joining DaVita spent Brian served as counsel to the research and development groups within multiple global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies supporting clinical research operations, university collaborations and strategic alliance management.

Chris Johnson

Chief Operating Officer | Austin, TX

Chris is an expert in making our teams successful through strategic processes designed to benefit each department. He prides himself in taking a data-driven approach when finding solutions to various obstacles. He’s well versed in areas of revenue, operations, healthcare, and customer service.

Chris has been a Director of Operations at major healthcare organizations since 2014. He’s been at ABC since February 2018, where he oversees operations and policies to further our company vision.

He has previously worked as a Combat Medic for the United States Army where he established treatment and triage protocols for emergency situations (QRF), monitored security and counter-insurgency operations in Iraq, and trained 500+ foreign military and police.

Dr. LeBlanc brings decades of experience in ensuring that our clinical programs and innovations remain ahead of the industry. She provides invaluable guidance to our team.

Dr. Russ Lang,
Ph.D, BCBA-D

Dr. Lang is a Professor at TSU, where his primary research interests involve the treatment of problem behavior and teaching play skills to children with autism. We know he will not only be a valuable resource of education to ABC but also an inspiration to all of our therapists.

Dr. Tyra Sellers, Ph.D, BCBA-D 

Tyra’s relentless pursuit for ethical behavior, compassionate care and effective supervision makes her a strong addition to our clinical capabilities. Most recently, Dr. Sellers served as Director of Ethics at BACB. Beyond all, Dr. Sellers is a humble leader, embraces ABC’s core values and models the importance of being a life long learner.

Dr. Gregory Hanley, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LABA 

Dr. Hanley has been applying the principles of learning to improve socially important behaviors of children and adults with and without disabilities for 30 years. He has published over 100 articles focused on the assessment, treatment, and prevention of maladaptive behavior and – teaching strategies for developing life skills, and empirically-derived values for practitioners.
