Learn more about ABA therapy & autism
View all FAQsWhat is ABA therapy, and how does it work?
Applied behavior analysis therapy is a proven approach for helping children with autism build new skills and reduce behaviors that can make learning more difficult. Through our Pennsylvania ABA therapy, children diagnosed with ASD can improve their communication, develop self-care routines, and learn emotion regulation skills. Our ABA therapists use positive reinforcement and personalized strategies to support each child’s growth. We work closely with families to help children reach their goals and build the skills they need for the future.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis before starting ABA therapy?
Yes. A documented autism diagnosis is required before your child can begin ABA therapy, receive insurance coverage for services, and access certain school programs. Action Behavior Centers offers no-cost evaluations, including the ADOS-2 and other Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations (CDEs), to help guide your next steps.
Contact us today to learn more about the diagnosis process and how our tools support your child’s growth.
The doctor said my child's development is delayed and suggested waiting to test for autism. Is that a good idea?
It’s natural to hope your child will catch up on their own, but delaying an autism diagnosis can mean missing key opportunities for early intervention. The earlier your child begins therapy, ideally between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old, the sooner they can develop essential skills for future success. Our proactive approach can make a lasting impact on your child's ability to connect with others and engage in the world around them.
What is the age range of children you serve?
We serve children on the autism spectrum from 18 months to 13 years and offer personalized ABA therapy to meet their needs. Therapy program options may differ based on your region.
