Job Description
Position: Research Assistant Location: Remote Salary range: $50,000–$60,000 annually Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Flexibility to conduct occasional evening or weekend when needed) Action Institute for Outcomes Research The Action Institute for Outcomes Research is dedicated to advancing the understanding of treatment outcomes for children receiving behavioral early intervention services. Through rigorous outcomes research, the Institute contributes to the scientific literature and helps behavior analysts, families, and funders make informed decisions about care. Findings generated by the Institute are also used to continuously improve clinical services across Action Behavior Centers. The Research Assistant I plays a critical role in supporting the Institute's research efforts through data management, quality assurance, participant engagement, and operational support. This position is ideal for an exceptionally detail-oriented individual who enjoys investigating data, organizing large datasets, solving problems independently, and ensuring accuracy across complex systems. Ideal Candidate This role is essential to ensuring Action's research data is accurate, complete, and publication-ready, ultimately helping advance the field and improve outcomes for the families we serve. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys meticulous work. They take pride in maintaining accurate records, identifying missing information, and ensuring datasets are complete and reliable. They enjoy working independently for extended periods while collaborating effectively with others when needed. This position is not intended for someone interested in directly conducting single subject design research sessions. Instead, it is best suited for an individual interested in administrative research operations, data quality, systems management, and supporting the publication of meaningful treatment outcomes research through administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, audit, and manage large research datasets across multiple systems, including CentralReach, Salesforce, spreadsheets, and research databases.
- Review participant records to ensure data is accurate, complete, and ready for research analysis and publication.
- Investigate missing, incomplete, or conflicting information and collaborate with Operations Managers and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct follow-up surveys with families and maintain accurate documentation of outreach efforts and outcomes.
- Create, manage, and improve tracking tools, spreadsheets, and data collection systems.
- Perform data cleaning and quality assurance activities to support treatment outcomes research.
- Read and summarize research articles relevant to ongoing projects.
- Assist with the preparation of research reports, manuscripts, presentations, and conference materials.
- Support professional events and conferences as needed.
- Participate in regular meetings with research leadership and independently manage assigned projects and priorities.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience as an RBT (Previous or current) at Action Behavior Centers.
- Strong understanding of Action Behavior Centers' services and systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.
- Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, and database management.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills and ability to interact positively with families and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze information, investigate discrepancies, and follow issues through resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CentralReach, Salesforce, and other healthcare or research databases.
- Experience reading and interpreting scientific literature.
- Interest in behavioral research, outcomes measurement, or data analytics.
- Experience supporting professional presentations, conferences, or publication efforts.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with APA formatting.
