Autism Assessment
and Diagnostic Support
We recognize the need for improved access to diagnostic services for children at risk of autism. Families should not have to wait months or be burdened by high costs to get the help they need. Action Behavior Centers offer autism specific assessments that can be used to help identify symptoms of autism and lead to earlier diagnosis so children can more quickly get the help they need.

Where Do I Start?
Our first step will be for you to complete an M-CHAT (Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers), especially if your child is young (18 - 30 months). We have this assessment available for you to complete on our website at this link. You will be given immediate results online.

What Next?
If the M-CHAT screening indicates a risk of ASD, we will invite you to our office for a more formal assessment called the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd edition). This is a common test used to help make a formal diagnosis of ASD, and we can administer this test in about an hour. It’s free. We are able to forward a summary of results to your child’s pediatrician or neurologist to help determine if criteria for a diagnosis is met.
A formal diagnosis is required by an insurance company before they will pre-authorize any ABA therapy benefits relating to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our goal at Action Behavior Centers is to simplify the access to care for our clients.

Your Child
Has A Diagnosis
The sooner a child begins ABA Therapy the better. Early intervention increases the level of success and helps prepare them for mainstream entry into a school/social environment. Â
We will help you understand the process and procedures necessary to obtain everything you need, for your family, for your insurance company, and ultimately for your child. Â
We’ve done this many times before and are here to help you. Â

Your Child Does Not
Have A Diagnosis
Action Behavior has immediate space available for children for Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. Our full-time, clinic-based therapists are ready to help. As you may know, the sooner a child receives early intervention services, the greater the chance is that they’ll be able to be mainstream into a school environment.
Every child is unique, but decades of research has established that early intensive behavioral intervention is the most effective therapy for children on the Autism Spectrum.
The enrollment steps are easy, and explained briefly below. If you have any questions, please contact us.

What do I do if I suspect my child has Autism?
Don’t panic. Parenting is challenging under any circumstances. If you suspect your child may be on the spectrum, start by using one of our early assessment tools. Â
