Every April, schools, organizations, and communities recognize Autism Acceptance Month as a time to promote inclusion and celebrate neurodiversity. April 2 is recognized by the United Nations as World Autism Awareness Day, designated to encourage global understanding of and respect for autistic individuals. This year, Action Behavior Centers marked the month with celebrations, family activities, and community engagement across its network of centers nationwide.
"Autism Acceptance Month is a time to reflect on how far we've come and to recommit to why we started: to be agents of positive change for the children and families we serve," said Hersh Sanghavi, Chief Executive Officer of Action Behavior Centers. "When we invest in our clinicians, stay closely connected to families, and lead with purpose, the impact extends far beyond our centers."
Infinity murals, art walks, and more: how ABC celebrated in April
ABC centers across the country took part in coordinated activities throughout April, including infinity handprint murals, a family Art Walk, dedicated teammate recognition, and Autism Acceptance Month 2026 t-shirts. The spirit of the month came to life a little differently at each location, shaped by the teams and families who made it their own.

A closer look at ABC Littleton's Autism Acceptance Month celebrations
At ABC's Littleton, Colorado, location, Senior Operations Manager Morgan Michieli and her team built the month around themes of growth and possibility. Children planted sunflower seeds to observe growth in action and took part in a carnation demonstration showing how small changes can create a meaningful impact. They also created infinity handprint murals exploring how small hands can do incredible things.
The month wrapped up with an Art Walk that transformed the center's lobby into the "Littleton Garden," inviting families to reflect on how their children bring sunshine into their lives.
"Every milestone, big or small, is worth celebrating," said Michieli. "It was truly remarkable to see the impact, community, and joy throughout the center during Autism Acceptance Month."

How ABC supports autistic children and families beyond April
Autism acceptance at ABC isn't limited to one month. Year-round, Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®) and Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®) work directly with autistic children in applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to help them build functional skills for everyday life, with goals tailored to each child's strengths, needs, and what matters most to their family.
"Autism acceptance begins with listening: to your child and to you," said Dr. Charna Mintz, Chief Clinical Officer at Action Behavior Centers. "At ABC, we take the time to understand who your child is, what they love, what they're working toward, and what matters most to your family. If your child is newly diagnosed with autism, please know that you are not alone."
Your family doesn't have to navigate autism alone. Contact us today to find an ABA center near you, check your insurance coverage, and take the first step toward getting your child the support they need.
At Action Behavior Centers (ABC), we help children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) reach milestone moments. Compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do, and our highly trained clinicians deliver evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Our autism services include diagnostic support, 1:1 individualized care, parent training, school readiness programs, and Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) across hundreds of centers in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Texas.
