Job Description: Associate Designer We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our New Centers Team as an Associate Designer. As an Associate Designer, you will work closely with our design, real estate, and construction team supporting them in various aspects of the new center’s projects. Your role will involve assisting in coordinating site visits for Architects, assisting Architects in creating and development of architectural and structural designs, reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting research for new design and value engineering initiatives, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on design floor plans that meet both operations flow, functionality, cost effectiveness, and brand standards. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction and design industry and contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design team and Architects in creating and developing architectural and structural designs for construction projects.
  • Assist in the reviewing of construction drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant codes and regulations.
  • Coordinating communication form the GC and Architect during the permitting process.
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, building systems, and construction techniques to enhance project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to gather project requirements and ensure design feasibility.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including design presentations, reports, and progress updates.
  • Assist in coordinating and communicating with contractors, suppliers, and other external parties to facilitate project implementation.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating design proposals, construction documents, and contractor submissions.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to ensure design compliance, identify potential issues, and support problem-solving efforts.
  • Utilize design software and tools effectively to develop accurate and visually appealing design concepts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to construction design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, project management, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (e.g., internships, coursework, projects) in architectural or construction design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work well in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices is a plus.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Travel up to 50%
