Interim Director of Clinical Quality (DQS) - Job Description
The Director of Clinical Quality (DCQ) plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive quality care through the systematic review of clinical case oversight at ABC. The interim director will oversee a pilot designed to oversee both the initiation and development of the centralized case review process. Their primary role is to conduct assigned case reviews and deliver timely feedback to the case supervising BCBA and their supervisor. In addition, the DQS will focus on the identification of KPIs for the quality specialist team. The DQS will report to the Quality Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the BCBA’s selection and implementation of clinical interventions through the review of skill acquisition, central reach organization, family guidance, and behavior intervention components of a patient’s treatment
- Score case reviews in alignment with the case review scoring guidelines
- Schedule feedback meetings in a timely manner after case review completion
- Deliver meaningful case review feedback and necessary action items indicated through the case review to assigned BCBA with CD present
- Monitor case review data in Tablou system
- Monitor and support team in meeting or exceeding KPIs
- Create reports to send to market leadership teams with a summary of monthly:
- Clinical Areas of Strength
- Clinical Areas of Concern
- Recommended Areas to Focus
- Lead initiatives for improvement to case review systems under the direction of the QO
- Support the development of the quality specialist team in partnership with QO and CCO
- Create supplemental materials to support the organization and department as necessary and provide follow up to ensure implementation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ABA therapy and contribute insights as needed
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required / Preferred
- Knowledge of ABC requirements for case oversight and management
- Knowledge of the case review system and understanding of clinical rationale for the scored components of the case review
- Passing case review scores for all case reviews
- Center case reviews averaging at least 85% or higher in previous quarter
- History of completing case reviews in a timely manner
- History of effective case review feedback delivery
Minimum Job Requirements
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required.
- Clinical Director or above at ABC
- At least one year experience at ABC
- At least one year of experience conducting case reviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
