Job Description
Job Title: Safety Program Manager Reports to: VP of Safety Type: Exempt Location: Remote or Austin HQ (with periodic travel to center locations) Position Summary The Safety Program Manager is responsible for supporting and enhancing ABC’s core safety programs across all locations. This role plays a critical part in deploying consistent safety practices, managing safety-related training and systems, coordinating emergency preparedness activities, and overseeing key projects that advance ABC’s safety performance and culture. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, proactive, and highly organized with ability to influence stakeholders, manage recurring processes, and ensure compliance with safety policies and standards across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Support & Deployment
- Support the development, maintenance, and day-to-day execution of essential corporate safety programs.
- Lead deployment of recurring safety activities, including annual training, audits, self-inspections and required reporting cycles.
- Monitor program performance, identify gaps, and assist in correction action planning.
- Serve as the system administrator for safety training within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Maintain training assignments, workflows, and reporting to ensure compliance with safety training requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders (Operations, Clinical, HR) to roll out new training modules and maintain training content.
- Track completion rates and provide regular compliance updates to leaders.
- Lead and manage the ABC-wide emergency drill calendar and associated resources.
- Develop drill templates, guidance documents, training to support consistent preparedness.
- Track drill completion and provide reporting to leadership.
- Support centers in improving emergency response readiness and documentation.
- Lead safety projects such as deployment of a new incident reporting system.
- Partner with Operations, IT, and HR to ensure seamless rollout and adoption.
- Provide training, documentation, and user support for new systems and tools.
Qualifications
Required- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in safety, compliance, healthcare operations or related fields.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage recurring processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with teams across multiple locations.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace / Microsoft Office and data reporting tools
- Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Healthcare administration, Organizational Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working in behavioral health or clinic-based environments.
- Safety certifications (e.g. OSHA 30, CHSP, ASP/GSP) are a plus
- Attention to Detail - Ensures accuracy in processes, systems, and documentation.
- Program Management - Balance multiple recurring programs and tasks effectively.
- Communication & Training - Clearly explain processes, expectations, and technical information.
- Collaboration - Works effectively across departments and levels of leadership.

- Adaptability - Remains flexible in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
