Job Title: Patient Collections Specialist Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Salary: Starting at $20/hr plus incentives based on overall collections   Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Collections Specialist to join our team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a medical practice setting and a proven track record of effectively contacting patients regarding their outstanding balances. As a Patient Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate collection of patient payments, thereby contributing to the financial health of our practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact patients with outstanding balances to discuss payment options and resolve any billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient accounts, payments, and communication.
  • Utilize Central Reach, Sales Force, and the Google suite of products to manage patient accounts and track collections efforts.
  • Collaborate with billing and administrative staff to address patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Follow up with patients regarding payment arrangements and overdue accounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients while adhering to all HIPAA regulations and privacy policies.
  • Meet monthly collection goals and performance metrics.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (highly preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a medical practice setting, focusing on patient collections.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claims.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Central Reach, Sales Force, and the Google suite of products.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
