Job Description:  The Paralegal - Litigation will become a foundational member of ABC’s new and growing legal team.  This position will report directly to ABC’s AVP, Associate General Counsel - Real Estate and Commercial Contracting and together with the rest of ABC’s legal team they will support ABC’s mission, to provide high quality ABA services to as many patients and their families as possible, as soon as possible.  Location: This position may be remote but ABC has a preference for candidates based in Austin, TX who are willing to work from ABC headquarters 2-3 days per week.   This role will be primarily responsible for day to day legal support for ABC litigation and investigation support (80%) but may also be responsible for some immigration support (20%). The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience.  Immigration experience preferred but not necessary. What You’ll Be Doing:    Litigation Support
  • Serve as the primary contact for all service process and assign matters to the appropriate stakeholders;
  • At the direction of ABC attorneys, track and project manage all ABC litigation matters including EEOC claims, employment litigation matters, and professional liability claims;
  • Assist with drafting responses to regulatory agencies (E.g. EEOC, OSHA, licensing boards, etc.), notice letters, cease and desist letters, some light contract drafting and review, etc.; and
  • Help develop ABC best practices, policies and procedures related to management and organization of litigation matters spanning all subject matters within the company.
Immigration Support
  • With oversight from, and in partnership with ABC attorneys, and the rest of the ABC leadership team, support H1-B and TN Visa applications for ABC teammates;
  • Provide additional employment law support as directed by ABC attorneys; and
  • Help develop and apply ABC best practices, policies and procedures related to H1-B and TN Visas and other immigration matters; 
General Support
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed or required;
  • General administrative support not directly related to immigration or litigation matters as assigned; and
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Bring With You:
  • Associate's degree and paralegal certificate; or bachelor's degree and related work experience.
  • 5 years minimum litigation and/or litigation experience, preferably with substantially drafting experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Google Mail and other related software required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions in person and by telephone.
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities with shifting time frames, and meet tight deadlines; willing to learn with a high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow-through.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to initiate efforts and work independently within scope of responsibilities and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent writing skills; ability to write clear, concise and persuasive.
  • Some travel required (less than 10%).
