Our Story

ABC began with a vision to provide better mental health services to children on the spectrum. It has continued to evolve with the changing landscape of ABA and childcare to stay at the forefront of the field.

Our Story

Our story begins with a story.  A story told to Ryan Lambert, by a lifelong family friend.  That story planted a seed.

Being parents of a newly diagnosed child with Autism, they were nervous, scared, inquisitive and anxious to learn as much as they could about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), their options, their opportunities and to begin building the best foundation possible for their child.

What they quickly learned is that  information is abundant, sometimes inconsistent, frequently overwhelming and facilities dedicated to assisting these children and their families were limited in both quantity and space available, often carrying a waitlist of 6 months to a year.

The one consistent piece of information, “The earlier you begin a program, the better.”

Ryan, our founder,  jumped into ACTION.

Collaborating with leading autism specialists, a team of BCBAs and healthcare entrepreneurs, Action Behavior Centers opened its first location in Austin, Texas in 2017.  We now have 51 locations, in four states and many more coming.  We are making an impact.

Our Staff

At the core of our success is a hand-picked, highly engaged staff, dedicated to the success of each and every child.

Our clinical leadership is composed of true experts in the field of ABA therapy.  Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are extraordinarily talented behavior therapists whose life’s work is helping children on the Autism Spectrum live rich, happy lives in which they contribute and enhance the world around them. They do this because they love making a difference. We take care of them because of it.

How do we get them?

We create a culture that is open, energetic, intensely supportive and grounded in a relentless commitment to quality therapy for our kids.

We provide each employee with a desirable compensation package from Day 1 and continually nurture these relationships.

How Common is Autism?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1% of the world’s population has autism spectrum disorder – over 75,000,000 people.  Recent data indicates that at least 3 million Americans are “on the Spectrum.”  At least 10x as many children are now considered to have ASD than 40 years ago, with increased publicity, awareness, and diagnosis being only part of the reason.

Action Behavior Centers (ABC) is an organization committed to the treatment of children using empirically validated methods and strategies to assist each child in reaching his or her greatest potential and improving their quality of life.

At ABC, we cherish every child as an individual.

Our Kids

Our kids are at the core of what we do. They are what matters.   Everything we do is focused on embracing their world, understanding them and achieving their greatest potential.

ABA Therapy is proven to work best when started early.  We begin our focus with early learners, generally  between ages 18 months to 6 years.  However, we achieve great success with children up to 13 years of age.

ABC uses errorless learning to decrease frustration and make teaching and learning a fun activity. Through ABA therapy, children learn, and enjoy learning, new skills such as communicating, socializing with peers, taking turns, demonstrating patience, and learning to be flexible if a change in their routine occurs.

Positive reinforcement increases the likelihood a behavior or response occurs more often in the future. The focus on rewarding desired behavior is what makes using ABA a fun and enjoyable experience.

Our Families

You are part of the ABC family, from the first phone call, through every milestone. We are in this together. We are connected.

In addition to behavioral and educational programming, we place a large focus on inclusion of the family.   Every family member plays a fundamental role in the success of our behavioral and educational programming.   We provide dedicated programs and training to help families understand their roles and responsibilities.
