Pearland, TX: ABA Therapy for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Our Pearland ABA Therapy center works with children who are typically ages 18 months to 8 years old on the Autism Spectrum. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is the leading treatment method to improve, reduce, or redirect the behaviors associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Specifically, ABC focuses on areas of development like speech and language, nonverbal communication, social skills, natural play skills, interacting with peers, motor skills, adaptive skills, general cognition and more. Our clinical team also specializes in reducing behaviors, such as temper tantrums or meltdowns, aggression, self-injurious behaviors, and self-stimulatory behaviors.
Our ABA Therapy Program at ABC Pearland
At ABC, we believe Applied Behavior Analysis therapy should be just as fun as it is productive. We take a hybrid approach incorporating both Discrete Trial Training (DTT) teaching methods and Natural Environment Training (NET). The focus of our program is Full-time Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) implemented in a clinic.
The main goal of ABC is to help children transition into typical elementary school classrooms. Please contact us to find out more about our Pearland ABA Therapy program and our enrollment process. We have immediate availability to provide services for kiddos and support for families.
What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) describes a developmental condition characterized by a range of behaviors. Some children may be more affected by ASD than others, which is why it’s important to offer every child an individualized treatment plan that targets their specific areas of need.
Some key indicators of ASD are a lack of communication (both verbal and nonverbal), avoiding eye contact, repetitive behaviors (self-stimulatory), aggression and self-injury, and more. Children with autism are also oftentimes affected by social deficits and need support building the social skills needed for peer interactions.
Free Autism Assessments: Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)
Our Pearland ABA Therapy center offers the ADOS-2 evaluation at no cost to families. ABC understands that Developmental Pediatricians and Neurologists in the Greater Houston Area often have waitlists to diagnose ASD. We have a team of Licensed Psychologists and BCBAs who can run the diagnostic assessment, and then provide results to the child’s physician to review and determine if a medical diagnosis is appropriate.
The evaluation takes about 45 minutes to an hour and is very natural and play-based. Kiddos have fun during the ADOS-2!
